We need your help

There is much work to be done in our county, from promoting humane treatment, to teaching pet owners the importance of spaying and neutering their pets, to helping make that important surgery available and affordable, to pushing for changes to laws and ordinances that will help protect animals, to supporting our local shelter in every way possible.

It only takes $10 to vaccinate an animal against rabies at the shelter.
It only takes $25 to spay/neuter a cat at the shelter.
It only takes $35 to spay/neuter a dog at the shelter.

A donation in memory of a beloved person or pet is a lasting way to honor their memory on the “In Memory of…” page on this site.

You can designate that your donation go to the Emergency Support Fund, which helps people who can’t afford veterinary care for their animals. Or, a monetary gift can be designated for the maintenance of the Alicia Melgaard Memorial Pet Cemetery.

It takes time and it takes money. Please support our cause by making a donation. The form below makes it easier than ever.

You can also give through the “donate” buttons on this page, which is simple, safe and secure through Paypal. Or, if you’d rather, you can call us at (575) 647-4808.

And if you’ve got a vehicle that you no longer need, please consider donating it to DACHS. It’s a simple process that does so much good. And it doesn’t have to be in running condition. Call (575) 647-4808 for more information.

Please remember that we are a 501(c)(3) organization, and your donations are tax-deductible.

Also, please remember that a bequest to the Doña Ana County Humane Society is a lasting way to make animal welfare part of your legacy. Planned giving through your will helps work on animal welfare causes to continue beyond your lifetime.

We thank you for your support and look forward to serving the people and pets of Dona Ana County.
